I have enjoyed outdoor activity throughout my life and still find the countryside to be a constant source of wonder and inspiration. In modern society, the role of the outdoors has never been more important than it is today. The need, and value, for out-of-class learning for children to help them acquire life skills, leadership qualities and develop into fully rounded adults has been proven time and again. The outdoors is one of the UK’s greatest free assets and the OIA encourages responsible use of the countryside to engender fitness and social inclusivity and fun.
